Quality is Key

More and more of our clients are telling us that quality is the key success factor for any installation project. But how do you define quality and does it come at a cost?

Having listened to our clients and taking a view of the current retail market we have developed our own quality model that we believe saves money and does not add cost.
 
1.      Your designs deserve respect:  Every installation must replicate your vision and meet your specifications, maximising sales potential.
2.      Timing is everything: Be realistic about timescales, trying to save time does not save money
3.      Communication is king: Over elaborate reporting tools add cost, keep in touch verbally on a daily basis and summarise on a weekly basis
4.      Health and Safety matters: Ensure installers understand the risks to customers, staff and themselves- and take measures to reduce them
5.      Take Ownership: Picking, packing, distributing, briefing and communicating with on site managers are our responsibility.

SAFEcontractor Accreditation

SMS has successfully achieved the accreditation criteria for SAFEcontractor approval. With many larger companies directly engaging SMS' services, we felt it was the right time to seek such approval. Our clients need to be satisfied that they are engaging the services of a professional POP display installation company and not a backyard, low cost operator which we often see emerging in this sector.

Asbestos Awareness Training

For those of you who are unaware, in the UK alone, 20 tradesmen die from Asbestos related diseases each week!  In line with our committment towards our employees, every member of staff in our Installation division was today trained on Asbestos Awareness. New Appointment

SMS is pleased to announce the appointment of Adrian White as its Business Development Director. Adrian joins SMS from a retail support and business services background spanning 15 years. His knowledge and experience is in supplying solution orientated services on a nationwide, multi-site resource scale to the UK's leading retail brands.

Adrian will be spearheading SMS's point of purchase and display solutions division. The retail market needs a fresh approach from POP and merchandising providers, one that adds value not cost and that will be the foundation of the SMS offer.

The UK market is going through a terrible time

In times of economic uncertainty, companies need to realign their thinking, guard their cash flow and ultimately protect their bottom line. Supporting the Environment

Where possible, all waste material created on site as a by-product of our services is removed by our tradesmen from site. We are licensed with the Environment Agency as a carrier of waste. This waste is bought back to our main warehouse, where it is sorted per substrate type before onward recycling. For a copy of our Environmental Policy please email sally.harper@sms-limited.net
